Katie Blair Matthews (b. 1994) is a freelance photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Having been surrounded by art and design as a child, my interest in photography has always been about how I can produce work which is highly creative, visually impactful and technically challenging. From constructing and lighting life-size interior sets, to photographing delicate tree saplings in a wooden hut in the heart of the Highlands, I have continuously developed skills which enable me to photograph in completely different environments with the most carefully selected equipment.
Themes concerning history and the environment have played a prominent role in my personal photographic practice. My current photographic project and research focuses on the history of Scotland’s landscape and human involvement with the regeneration and preservation of nature.
I have also carried out commissions throughout the UK and continue to deliver high quality work which helps businesses stand out from their competitors. I work closely with my clients and encourage a collaborative approach where necessary so that I can tailor my services specifically for you. It is my passion for what I do, my professionalism and my attention to detail that has allowed me to maintain long lasting business relationships.
I also run a wedding photography business; you can find my other photography website at KatieBMWeddings
